The Ole Piper Inn has been around Blaine forever, and is what I would consider a blue-collar restaurant and bar. Given that, the atmosphere is pretty laid back, and service generally pretty good (better in the restaurant than in the bar). The food quality for breakfast is pretty good. However, the sandwich menu, dinner manu, and some appetizers are really of mediocre quality. I have tried the pizza (ok ingredients, horrible crust), BLT sandwich (3 very thin slices of bacon, 3 thin slices of tomato, and 1 leaf of lettuce - worst sandwich I have had in a long time), the triple stack turkey club (just ok, but mostly bread, and not much substance), the taco salad (served without any taco sauce or salsa, and very little meat), and the chicken fingers appetizer (pretty good, but served with the mcdonalds style single portion sauces, and nothing else). I would highly recommend skipping anything but the breakfast menu and happy hour specials in the bar. That's where the value is.
