After 40 years of going to Nye's over the Holidays, this is My VERY LAST TIME. It was a Thursday night between Christmas and New Years and Nye's was packed as usual. The first red flag was no valet service. OK, no big deal. Next red flag was no one in the coat check room. OK, no big deal again. Next red flag was only 1 bar open and only 1 bartender for literally hundreds of diners. Yes, big deal! Drink service was 30 minutes per round, and when the $5.50 Blue Moons arrived they were luke warm at best. I like wine at room temp, but not my beer. The Steaks were good, not great. The French Fries were soggy and about as warm as the beer. The Garlic Mashed Potatoes were cold and lumpy, and could have best been used to hang wallpaper. It wasn't the waitresses fault, just simply a lack of proper staffing throughout. In short....a $425 dining nightmare. D. Winker
