Review:
We thought we would try a new local restaurant one afternoon, and stopped by this place. Citizen Cafe had a menu that looked good, but the items were not quite like their names. For example, it took the waitress 5 minutes to explain all of the "different" things about their "Reuben". But none of that info was on the menu... The atmosphere was sterile. The food was very so-so; dry and overpriced. The waitress was fine and clearly wanted to do a good job, but we will NOT be going back.

Review:
Citizen Cafe is fabulous. We just went for breakfast expecting the traditional diner fare of the former tenant Sweet Lorraines, and we were pleasantly surprised by everything!! The outside of the building may be the same, but the interior, the menu and the service have been upgraded. We tried the organic scramble and the short stack. Both were fantastic. While we waited, we were treated to small bites of scones and sweet bread with homemade jam that was out of this world. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with lots of natural light. The new owners have added beautiful light fixtures and lovely prints that make Citizen Cafe cozy. We give it an enthusiastic thumbs up.

Slow service; average quality food; food was barely warm and certainly not hot when it finally was served; wait staff was not particularly helpful.
