Cruise the Mediterranean

Mediterranean Cruise Cafe (651) 452-5991
3945 Sibley Memorial Hwy, Eagan, MN 55120

Experience the Middle East in this family-owned restaurant that thrives on the unique flavors of the Mediterranean coastal countries. Greece, Turkey, Lebanon, Egypt, and North Africa have all contributed to the tantalizing menu of the Mediterranean Cruise Café.

Located on Sibley Memorial Highway in Eagan, the Café features comfortable atmosphere, great service, and meat so tender you can cut it with a fork. The hospitality of Mediterranean cultures is exemplified in the welcoming atmosphere of the Café. Family members greet you at the door and whisk you to your seat. If you arrive at the right time Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night, you’ll catch one of the amazing belly dancers that entertain the diners at the Mediterranean Cruise Café.

Jamal Ansari, the owner of the Café, has gone to great lengths to accommodate the palate of his guests. In addition to the large selection of meat-centered Mediterranean foods, there is also a nice vegetarian menu, an American menu featuring burgers, Porterhouse steak, and New York steak, and a kids menu that has the all-important items like corn dogs, chicken strips, and hamburgers.

The Mediterranean portion of the menu is centered around the mainstays of the region. Falafil, hummos, kibbe, kufte-kabob, shawirma (gyros), and tahini are in abundance on the menu. Their famous specialty is the garlic sauce. The spanakopita (spinach pie stuffed in fillo dough) is another must-try. Of course, it’s my personal opinion that one cannot truly experience a Mediterranean restaurant without sampling the ultimate party appetizer, saganaki opa, or flaming cheese.

The Mediterranean Cruise Café is open Monday thru Friday from 11am to 10 pm. They are open Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon until 10pm. Appetizer prices range from $3.95 to $19.95 for the Super Tray. Entrees range from $4.00 for a half pita gyro to $39.95 for the Shish Kabob and Shrimp Family Pack. Prices average around $12 to $15 dollars. The Café has a large take out menu, a full bar, outdoor dining, and daily lunch and dinner specials. They also offer full catering services for parties and weddings. They are located near Cedar Avenue South and Highway 13, across from Cedarvale Shopping Center. Call 651-452-5991 for more information or visit their website at
