Adrian's Tavern

Charming Neighborhood Tavern
Adrian's Tavern (612) 824-4011
4812 Chicago Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55417

Have you ever looked for one of those charming little neighborhood hangouts where everyone really does know your name? Including the staff? Then welcome to Adrianís Tavern. When you walk into a properly decorated pub, you know you are experiencing a little bit of England.

When you walk into Adrianís, you know you are in an American tavern. The glowing beer signs, the wall of booths, and the polished bar all invite you to stay a while and relax.

I have to say, the most interesting thing on the menu is the Juicy Lucy, a half-pound blast of hamburger in two patties with a cheese slice between the patties and a slice on top. The rest of the burgers are one-third pound. They include a California burger, a Lurtsie with bacon and cheese, a Veggie, a Dan burger with cheese and sauerkraut, a Mushroom Swiss, and a Turkey burger. Even the Juicy Lucy is only $5.25 and the prices range down from there.

You also have seventeen different side orders to get excited about including Onion Rings, Pepper Poppers stuffed with cream or cheddar cheese, and Cheese Curds. There are also four sandwiches anchored by a Veggie sandwich and a Pork Tenderloin. Next come baskets of chicken or shrimp. A fish sandwich and Fish-N-Chips round out the menu.

Every time I go to the State Fair, I always stop and get a mug of 1919 Root Beer. It was my special, once-a-year treat because I couldnít find it anywhere else. Well, now I can get it by the pitcher at Adrianís Tavern. They also offer Orange, Grape, Black Cherry, and Cream soda. For the other type of beer, they have a nice selection on tap including Schell Dark, Killianís Red, Sam Adams Seasonal Ale, Bass, and Guinness Pints. If you prefer a glass of wine, they have a complete selection of Sutter Home wines. There is a list of bottled beer at each table.

Adrianís Tavern is located at 4812 Chicago Avenue South amidst a group of charming shops and stores. They also offer takeout and can be reached at (612) 824-4011. The grill closes at 11:00pm.
